When I first moved to upstate N.Y., I was immediately awe struck by the natural beauty surrounding me. What’s so special about upstate N.Y.? Nothing, if you have always lived here. But, for a former student who calls the Caribbean island of Dominica home, everything!

I have always had a passionate interest in art – sculpture, paintings, photography – and nature. Photography is my chosen means of expressing the emotional, aesthetic, provacative and sometimes contemplative scenes I see through my lens. My interest in traditional art influences my photography when I work on taking the everyday and illustrating the artistic elements in it. But, this is also tempered by the aesthetics that only a camera and digital photography can give.
